Chinese New Year 2012
Year of the Dragon
For 2012, the Lunar New Year begins on Monday, January 23 and the celebration lasts for two weeks. The Jing Ying Institute of Kung Fu & tai Chi is hosting its "Weeks of Workshops and Celebrations" to help usher in the Year of the Dragon.
This is a particularly significant year for Jing Ying. We first opened our doors in 2000, during the year of the Golden Dragon, so Jing Ying was "born" in the year of the dragon!
A noble animal symbol that represents the Chinese emperors, Dragons are born leaders. The Dragon is gifted, intelligent, tenacious, willing, generous, and they are unusually lucky. Jing Ying has lived up to that, being a leader in the martial arts community and the local community. We have been gifted with extremely talented instructors and hard working students who have been vary generous in raising money for charitable causes.
Check back frequently as workshops are still being added!
These events are open to the general public and do not require any previous experience. We recommend that you register in advance for any workshops you would like to attend. You may register at the door, but it will be on a "space-available" basis. We recommend that you arrive 10 to 15 minutes early to any events to check in or register as needed.
