XinJia YiLu (New Frame First Form) and Push Hands
The New Frame First Routine (XinJia YiLu) as it is taught today was standardized by Chen ZhaoKui, son of its creator, Chen FaKe. Chen ZhengLei learned the routine from Chen ZhaoKui. Compared to the Old Frame, the New Frame contains more elements and many subtle and detailed movements that are difficult to learn and understand unless presented directly by an accomplished master such as Chen ZhengLei.
The underlying basis of the practice is to train rou (softness) from which jin (internal strength) is developed. This workshop will help you appreciate and develop the expressiveness of Chen TaiJi. While XinJia YiLu does not strictly require LaoJia as a prerequisite, familiarity with LaoJia YiLu or the 18 Form make it easier to learn.

Chen Style Tai Chi is considered the source of the major styles of Tai Chi (TaiJi). The founders of both Yang Style and Wu style trained at the Chen Village, then left and opened their art to the public. While those styles spread and became popular, Chen style continued to be taught only in Chen village and was not as well known. Now the secret is out, and Chen TaiJi is gaining in popularity as people discover the silk reeling exercises and coiling movements of the original style of TaiJi.
